LE MAT REVOLVER
CONFEDERATE second MODEL
percussion caliber
42 in cylinder and 18 gauge in cylinder axis,
matching serial # 1950. This late model
Paris made LeMat revolver is in beautiful condition and retaining much of its original finish. All parts normally numbered 1950. This
revolver is pictured on page 207 of Forgett & Serpette's book,
"LeMat: The Man, The Gun"; the estimated
production is 1862 - 1863. This is one of the
nicest standard model LeMat's one could own. Markings are
great and it retains fine finish and beautiful stocks. CONDITION: Metal
surfaces are smooth and brown throughout with 50%+ bright blue finish on pistol
barrel and housing. Cylinder retains 30% or 40% original blue finish. Frame and
trigger guard retain 10% finish. Other metal surfaces are smooth with scattered
staining and minor pitting. Stocks are sharp and crisp and well fit with one
gouge a little less than a
¼"
in left stock near frame. Rifling
is crisp.
Mechanically functions well. All markings are well struck and easy to read.
