Just a poverty group?

Senate denies funds for poverty group

WASHINGTON, Sept 14 (Reuters) – A poverty-rights group that has drawn the ire of conservatives suffered another setback in Washington on Monday when the U.S. Senate voted overwhelmingly to deny it access to federal housing funds.

Are you kidding me?? The headline makes it appear as if our government is withholding funding from an orphanage full of poverty stricken and parentless babies rather than an organization that has been embroiled in controversy for much of the past year (at least).

Why the misleading headline?

COMMENT

Calling ACORN a “poverty group” is like calling Al Capone a philanthropist because he ran a soup kitchen in Chicago during the Depression.

Where is the coverage?

Obama warns against scare tactics over healthcare

Protesters in Washington brandished American flags and home-made signs venting their anger at Obama and the Democrats who control both houses of the U.S. Congress, accusing them of pushing the country toward bankruptcy with reckless spending.

“Taxed Enough Already!” one man shouted, while others listened to speakers and traded leaflets. The crowd appeared to be one of the largest rallies against Obama since he took office, although it did not come close to matching the turnout on the National Mall for his inauguration in January.

COMMENT

I guess there just weren’t enough of us protesting in Washington D.C. on the 12th of September. That must be it. After all, if Michelle Nichols can write a two-page article for Reuters on 300 liberals protesting the G20 in Pittsburgh then there must not have been more than five or six of us in D.C., else SURELY we would have been covered by the media. Guess we’ll need a slightly larger crowd next time, eh?

Tea parties…

Photo

How is it that America had thousands of Tax Protests yesterday and you don’t have anything listed in your “Top Stories” section?

If there were thousands of individual protests across the county speaking out about war you would have been all over it. But when average American Citizens gather peacefully you act as if it didn’t happen?

Chris

Not one article online about the tea parties. If this had been done during the previous administration your reporters would have been falling all over themselves covering it. What a biased left wing organization. I won’t read your crap again.

COMMENT

The tea parties are just a beginning! As more and more people get hit in the wallet by wasteful government spending, everyday citizens are getting more and more tired of politician\’s promises. More and more people are waking up to the fact that government is not the solution and is the cause of our financial woes!
You can fool some of the people some of the time but this will quickly turn against these officials who blame America first, try to kiss up to proven murderous dictators and spend our hard earned taxes while \”guilt-tripping\” us that we need to pay our fair share! We are more than paying our fair share and the politicians on both sides of the aisle will be getting the message that wasteful government needs to be reigned in!
If you are in a high tax state with ridiculously high property taxes, check out a solution at http://www.hometaxguide.com
Wasteful government spending has had its day in the sun! We will turn this country around! Only a fool wants us to turn into Europe where all the incentives to work and produce have been eliminated with taxes that penalize people who want a better life for themselves and their families!
