A few hours after assisting on the winning goal against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Ryan Kesler assisted far more importantly early Sunday morning when his wife, Andrea, delivered the couple's second child. Ryker Kesler weighed in at seven pounds, two ounces.
“It's good to be me right now,” Kesler told News1130 radio before boarding the Canucks mid-day charter to St. Louis, where Vancouver open a three-game pre-Christmas road trip Monday against the Blues. Kesler will be playing on adrenalin.
The birth means the Canucks have one delivery to go. Goalie Roberto Luongo's wife, Gina, is in the final stages of her pregnancy, although the player won't reveal the due date.
Ryker is a baby brother to Makayla Kesler, who is two.
