I know it's very stupid to offer a fan kit for a fansite - but since being here is fun, who cares :)

Here's our logo in the lwo model format:
http://www.doom3world.org/doom3/files/d ... ld.org.rar (18kb)

I've made three cheap logo animations from the lwo models above - don't get too hyped - DivX5 encoded:

http://www.doom3world.org/doom3/files/d3w_animation.rar (78kb)
http://www.doom3world.org/doom3/files/d ... ation2.rar (262kb)
http://www.doom3world.org/doom3/files/d ... ation3.rar (315kb)

There's also a fully renderbumped game ready version of the logo which I might put up tomorrow, there's still some tweaking left.

How cool would it be to see that logo animation playing before some mods? :)

I was thinking the same thing - you could also put it on GUI's ingame :)

I need to renderbump the individual letters, quite time consuming - will see when and how I can do that.

Eventually I'll only renderbump the blue orange parts, so I can keep em better in one UV map.

This one loads fine into radiant and uses a Doom3 stock material, no fancy bumping going on tho:

Here are two bumpmapped logos with material files and stuff - extract to your base folder (a source file is also included).

Have fun.

hey bna! thanks for that logo... the two are great.. why did you include the hight definition version? and the other one that seems to be incomplete? and why are those two so small?

anyway i like the simple the most over the complex.. because i think the other i too much complex! :)

I did include one higher poly version because people might want to look at it and learn.

What do you mean with incomplete? Please be more specific.

The small ones are the versions I use in LightWave (different grid units).
Later on I scale the model up to be game ready.

Has any made any linkage buttons for external sites usong the doom3world.org logo, I'd suggest white & black versions maybe along with a psd that can be used to make any background colour.

additional hits from external linkage would help to get better search engine ratings.

Nice work on the fanpack so far.

Thanks eskimo!

Buttons are a good idea, but the problem is that other Doom3 sites fear to loose hits by linking us.

There are only very few sitest who currently link to Doom3world.

It's been much more, but a few people, traceable back to come from a certain corner of the web, made sure to email every webmaster in the world to ensure that a link to Doom3world.org get's removed.

I'm currently doing a lot of backoffice work for D3W - when I'm done our external link rating will be much better again.

And - Google doesn't really like phpBB urls, there are mods which rewrite the output url's for Google, but it's not worth the hassle.

Still we're listed on dmoz which is always a good thing:
http://dmoz.org/Games/Video_Games/Shoot ... /Doom_III/

Somebody made a nice small button one day, don't know where I have it...

Everybody:
feel free to have fun with our logo and make something cool with it, even better - something funny.

Yes, we're well listed on non-generic search terms.

Back in the day we ranked 2nd or 3rd when you simply entered "doom3".

Hey, we rank first for doom 3 editing :)

Yeah - it's not bad - it's definately still up there :-

doom3 textures = 1
doom3 modelling = 5
doom3 editing = 3
doom3 mapping = 18
doom3 = around 50 to 60
doom3 maps = around 20 to 30

Anyone with a personal website should link through - every linkage helps out to climb the google ranks.

Hell, maybe we can all chip in $5 to do a quick google ad as a test :)

They were made by Peppi, I fitted the full logo into the same space on the colour variation above - managed to track down the original thread, just over a year ago - god, time goes quick :-
