The Board of the Venice Biennale met on 14th December and examined the particularly positive results obtained by the Biennale in 2010, both as regards the large attendance and the structural enhancements. A schedule of restoration works for the Palazzo del Cinema at Lido has been approved: this includes the renovation of interiors and systems, and a few improvements at the Casinò.

Seven workshops anticipating the next International Theatre Festival take place Oct. 12 through December 31, and in February/March 2011. Aimed at professional actors, the workshops will have a performance phase during the 41st International Theatre Festival (October 2011).
Thomas Ostermeier is the fifth director in a series of meetings with the audience: Thursday 30 December at Ca' Giustinian, Venice, 6 p.m.

The second edition of the Kids’ Carnival will feature a program of creative initiatives aimed at a public of adults and students, as well as children of all ages, transforming the Giardini venue into The Garden of Flying Countries. The program includes exhibitions, educational activities for schools, workshops for families and guided tours for the public, treasure hunts, meetings, shows, concerts and lots more.
