James Mobberley

James Mobberley is Curators' Professor of Music at the Conservatory of Music of the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Awards include the Rome Prize, the Guggenheim Foundation, and the 2001 Van Cliburn Composers Invitational. Commissions have come from the Koussevitzky Foundation (Library of Congress), Fromm Foundation, Chamber Music America, St. Louis Symphony, Kansas City Symphony, Meet the Composer, Barlow Foundation, Music From China, and the Cleveland Chamber Symphony.

He has appeared as Guest Composer with the Taiwan National Symphony, the American Composers Orchestra, the Composers Forum at Wellesley College, and over 40 colleges and universities around the world. His music has received more than 900 performances on five continents, and appeared on two dozen recordings.
