Graduate is the first release from Telugu Film Industry in 2011. , the film is believed to be meant for youth so let the terminology be over and done for the time being. This film has its share of plusses and minuses. Know the details in Graduate Movie review…

Story:

The story begins with a flashback narrated by Manisha (Tashu) and she turns back time to three years when she graduates. Manisha is totally in love with close friend Chakri (akshay) but he is not responsive about it. They also have friends- Shiva who has a weakness for girls and Seenu who has a weak mind. In comes another girl Pavani (ritika) and Chakri goes crazy about her thinking it is love. Though Manisha is hurt, she still helps Chakri in all means possible. However, Pavani makes Chakri realize that it was just infatuation and an incident happens at Chakri's home which takes him away from all his friends and Manisha over the last three years. What is that incident? Where is Chakri? All this forms the rest of the story.

Analysis:

The director has come up with a noble storyline but both the presentation and narrative was poor. The dialogues were stale, the script was weak and the screenplay was amateur. Background score was intruding but three songs are worth humming. Cinematography was alright. Editing had many jerks and was abrupt. Costumes were natural while the art department made its presence felt. Overall, the film has poor writing, passable technical values, better songs and ignorant narrative. The makers have to do some aggressive publicity to get the film into safe zone at the box office

Performances:

Akshay has failed to perform all the aspects. Neither, he is good at dances, nor in action scenes, leave alone body language and histrionics. His dialogue modulation is mediocre and has no idea as to how to act in a film. Ritika Sood is seducing. However, she has a good sexual appeal but not suitable for a heroine’s role. Tashu Kaushik is the only person, who has all the sexy oomph and excellent physique. At the same time, she has good acting capability and given good performance. Brahmanandam in the role of Bhikshapati, owner of a call centre, is okay but the director has failed to make use of him. MS Narayana, Kallu Chidambaram, Chandrmohan, Purnima and others have done justice to their respective roles.

Technicalities:

As far as the technical team is concerned, camerawork by Murali is just okay but not that great to talk about. Music by Sandeep is also average. None of the songs are foot-tapping and the background score is also just okay. The story penned by the director Prasad Rayala is really impressive, but he has miserably failed in its narration. The hero is a college topper and he got distracted by love. When the director tries to say that the hero has a wish to become an IAS/IPS officer, the hero doesn’t appear in that mindset at any frame. It is not known why the director chose the title of the film as a Graduate, as it has nothing to do with the subject at all.

Plus Points:

_ Tashu Kaushik is the only experienced actress in the main lead and it shows by a distance.
_ Akshay has good looks and a great voice

Minus points:

_ Bad Story
_ poor Narration
_ Immature Directorial skills
_ Low Technical Values

Final Word:

Stay away. It is not even worth watching for free leave alone buying a ticket.

hello all, saw the movie this morning-very nice-first half is very entertaining. Songs are great,akshay has done a good job and has a great future. Tashu and ritika were good too.

Akshay looks awesome and acted GREATTTTT for a first timer.. wonder if the reviewer has a personal problem with the hero? ;-) just not justifiable.. utterly confuseddddddddd

Looks like the reviewer has not been paid money by the team or has been paid to write against it!! I watched the movie 2 days back and loved it. Great effort by the whole team, and such movies must be encouraged in a society where morals and values are dead and gone!! Reviewers like these must be thrashed for misguiding the audience. I would definitely recommend watching this movie!

I saw the movie today, it's worth watching, the performances by new comers is good...music very good, I have no idea why the reviews are bad for this film...I would at least rate 3.5/5....
