Birmingham City: Matt Derbyshire feels like a January signing
Matt Derbyshire admitted that he feels like a January transfer window signing.
Derbyshire got his second Blues start in five days and notched two fine goals at Millwall.
It's been a long time coming for Derbyshire, who has been parked on the substitutes bench virtually all season.
"I feel like a January transfer to be honest! I am really, really pleased to be playing. I can't express that enough. It means a lot to me to come here and play football, for myself from a selfish point of view.
"Hopefully, fingers crossed, I can keep playing.
"It has been very frustrating. The majority of the time I'm thinking 'what am I going to do?'. Nothing matters more than playing football.
"Obviously I played at Blackpool and there's a bit more sharpness to come. To score a couple of goals is brilliant."
Derbyshire encouraged Blues to be adventurous in the wake of the Blackpool win and 4-1 FA Cup success at Millwall.
