Dan Soucek, Candidate for NC Senate District 45, In His Own Words

Dan Souck has spent the last 20 years of his life serving — serving our country, serving overseas, and serving the local community.

Dan graduated from West Point in 1991 and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in Army Aviation. During his eight years of active duty, he served in a variety of leadership positions, flying AH-1 Cobra and UH-1 Huey helicopters and earning the AH-1 Top Gun Award.

After resigning his commission in 1999 he moved to Boone to assume the role of Young Life Area Director for Watauga, Ashe, and Avery counties. In 2004 he began working as the Asia Regional Director for Operation Christmas Child at Samaritan’s Purse. His time in the Army, Young Life, and Samaritan’s Purse have given him many opportunities to serve — as well as reach out to the impoverished and needy around the world.

Dan and his wife Kim have been married for 15 years and have three children: Isaac, Janie Ann, and Lucy.
