Tabuk woman fights off would-be abductors with shoe

By MD AL-SULAMI | ARAB NEWS

JEDDAH: A Saudi woman armed with a high-heel shoe defended herself and her son from four youths who tried to abduct her in Tabuk on Sunday.

The woman and her five-year old son were waiting in a car outside a mosque for the return of her husband who had gone inside for Isha prayer, a police source told Arab News.

They were returning from Tabuk to their hometown in Hail before stopping for prayers. The husband parked the car on the road a little away from the mosque. He forgot to lock the car when he left.

“Shortly afterward, another car with four men pulled up close to the vehicle. A youth got out and opened the door of her car and grabbed her hand, pulling her out.”

The source said she removed one of her high-heeled shoes and struck him in the face. The sharp heel hit one of his eyes and he fled, crying for help.

“Then another man came running and pulled the door. But she shut it with such force that his fingers became jammed between the door and the car and he was wriggling with pain,” he added.

Three other men got out of the other car but by that time the husband had come out, the source said.

The husband could not contain his anger when he followed the other car and caught up with it at a red light.

He jumped out, opened the door and pulled out the man with the bleeding eye before beating him up. A police patrol arrived at the location and arrested the men in the car.

Why they are hiding the nationality of the four men when they are mentioning the nationality of the woman? However these fellows must be punished severely that others do not follow this act in future.

There should be public punishment with removal of some appendages /limbs of such people to discourage others to do such acts in a Kingdom which claims to be the Kingdom of Humanity.
