The Minnesota Walk of Fame (i.e. the gold stars for Loni Anderson, Tippi Hedron, and Marion Ross in front of the State Theatre in downtown Minneapolis) will soon be expanded to honor a wider selection of local celebrities, starting with the addition of one of Minnesota's most famous expats, Bob Dylan.

Dylan himself won't make it out to see his sidewalk star unveiled, but the Dakota Jazz Club is rounding up a crew of musicians with ties to iconic singer-songwriter to perform a special tribute show.

On Friday, October 15, early Dylan inspiration Ramblin' Jack Elliott will perform at the Dakota with singer Maria Muldaur, violinist and one-time Dylan collaborator Scarlet Rivera, West Bank mainstay "Spider" John Koerner, and Gene LaFond.

Tickets are $40, and $10 of each ticket goes toward funding the Walk of Fame.

The Minnesota Walk of Fame is planning to add more stars in the near future, including ones honoring Judy Garland, Vince Vaughn, Jessica Lang, and James Arness. It doesn't have quite the luster of the Hollywood stars, but hey, we'll take it.
