Rombauer creates $1M matching challenge gift
December 30th, 2010NAPA – The winemaking Rombauer family committed to matching every donation of $500 or more to Napa Valley Hospice and Adult Day Services up to $1 million through the Rombauer Family Challenge. The gift supports the organization’s Legacy of Compassion campaign, which is raising funds to complete the expansion of its current building and seed an endowment to keep the building operational.

Foster’s taps new leader for post-demerger wine group

Cinema deal kick-starts construction on large south Napa retail projects
December 20th, 2010NAPA — Retail and housing developments the Gasser Foundation has had in the works for years in south Napa are set to start coming out of the ground in spring or early summer now that a lease agreement has been secured for a movie theater that would be an anchor tenant for two projects totaling about 270,000 square feet.

North Bay jobless rates rise in November
December 17th, 2010NORTH BAY — Unemployment rates in North Bay counties rose 50 to 130 basis points in November from a year before, but the jobless rates in Marin and Sonoma counties remained unchanged at high levels, according to state figures released this morning.
