This behavior may affect custom scripts that you use with Windows PE 2004 or Windows PE 2005. CAUSEThis behavior occurs because of the addition of Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) support in Windows PE 2004 and Windows PE 2005. WMI requires a hardcoded registry path and does not work if the startup drive volume is not assigned a fixed drive letter when you start Windows PE. WORKAROUNDTo work around this behavior, use one of the following methods:
