Petrol bombs thrown in Cairo as night falls
Fierce clashes have continued into the night in Cairo as supporters of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and anti-government protesters refuse to back down.
Gunfire was heard as rival groups of stone-throwing demonstrators fought pitched battles in and around the city's Tahrir Square. Petrol-bombs were also thrown.
