So Long, Chris Bangle

BMW's controversial head designer, Chris Bangle, has left the building. After years of pumping out polarizing auto designs for the German luxury marque, BMW announced Bangle had resigned on Feb. 2. Sources close to Bangle and BMW indicate that Bangle had been preparing his exit for months. Beginning in 1992, Bangle began developing a distinctive design language for BMW that won the company plentiful helpings of criticism and media attention but also played a part in achieving record sales. Here we take a look at some of Bangle's designs.
