A few months ago I bought a large can of Maxwell House coffee for $5.50 CDN and now its $10.97 CDN. That's a 50% increase in a few months. I'm not drinking it anymore and I feel alot better without it!

Coffee price has gone up too highly. Considering the normal foods price rising, it's abnormal. I think coffee is 'articles deluxe' so it encorages the coffee price to go up. However, consumers are willing to pay more for coffee, and then suppliers don't want to keep low price. They want to earn money from them instead of providing luxury coffee.

Concerning the taste of coffee, using fresh coffee beans is the most important thing, I think. Good taste is not equal to high price, that is also similar to other food and drinks. But a lot of people concern the luxury image, that may measured the prices.
