Doncaster   0 - 6   Ipswich

Doncaster v Ipswich

Doncaster 0-6 Ipswich

Teenager Connor Wickham scored a hat-trick as Ipswich ran riot at Doncaster.

Rovers's bad night began when Sam Hird headed into his own net before Colin Healy slotted in from 12 yards from Lee Martin's cross.

Wickham, 17, notched his first when he followed up Healy's shot which was parried by Gary Woods, before volleying in his second after the break.

Gareth McAuley headed in the fifth before Wickham scored his third from the spot after James O'Connor handled.

Manager Paul Jewell has now guided Ipswich to four wins in six outings since taking over, while Doncaster have now lost six in eight.

Ipswich were a constant threat throughout the match and could have made their win more handsome.

Early on, a Wickham shot ricocheted off defender James Chambers but luckily for Woods it went straight to him.

Former Fulham player Jimmy Bullard then saw his deflected shot spin narrowly wide of the Rovers goal. Damien Delaney and Healy also went close late on.

Doncaster's John Oster fired in an effort which went fractionally wide of the Ipswich upright.

James Coppinger then tested Marton Fulop from distance before providing a cross for Joseph Mills, who headed over in first-half stoppage time.

In the closing stages of the match, Fulop produced an excellent double save to deny James O'Connor and Paul Keegan.
