The Newseum hosts author James Swanson as he presents a retelling of the events of April 14, 1865, when assassin John Wilkes Booth shot Pres. Lincoln. Afterward, historian Anthony Pitch goes on a tour of Lincoln Assassination sites.

Lincoln Memorial Rededication The Lincoln Memorial was rededicated to mark the 2009 bicentennial of Pres. Abraham Lincoln’s birth. The memorial was originally dedicated on May 30, 1922.
