Alan Keyes claims he got death threats at Cornell because he wouldn't support demonstrators who seized a building on campus. And you can't really blame him for supporting the war. His father fought in Korea, did two tours in Vietnam, retired as a Command Sergeant Major, and was buried at Arlington under a stone listing a Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster and a Purple Heart on it. But Alan coasted through his own war years with student deferments and a high lottery number — and there is no hereditary exemption from chickenhawk status.
