How to Clean Game Cartridges!
Classic Game Room educational film: HOW TO CLEAN GAME CARTRIDGES! This CGR special shows you how to clean videogame cartridges using a Q-tip (not the rapper) and isopropyl alchol. Collecting for N64, Atari 2600, Colecovision, NES, SNES, Genesis or any other cartridge based video game console? Then odds are you’ll run into some dirty game carts that need a simple cleaning before they work. If you buy used video game cartirdges you’ll frequently find some that don’t work when you power up the game system. A simple cleaning will fix the videogame cartridge 99% of the time because the contacts become dirty over time. Sometimes they become flat our disgusting and filthy. Clean your game cartridges with rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab and never let grime in the way of your gaming again!

CGR Undertow – Star Fox Adventures for Nintendo GameCube
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Star Fox Adventures from Rare and Nintendo for the Nintendo GameCube. The real tragedy of the controversial Star Fox Adventures is that this isn’t a bad game. In fact, on the contrary, it’s a very good game. Star Fox Adventures starts with a quintessentially Rare formula, offering players an enormous game world with a laundry list of items to collect. But the game noticeably borrows concepts from the Legend of Zelda, as well, resulting in a distinct kind of game that plays like Banjo-Kazooie meets the Wind Waker. This video review features video gameplay footage of Star Fox Adventures for the Nintendo GameCube and audio commentary from Classic Game Room’s Derek.

CGR Undertow – Red Steel 2 for Nintendo Wii
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow video game review of Red Steel 2 from Ubisoft for the Nintendo Wii from March 2010. Red Steel 2 is a sequel in name only. Having nothing to do with the first game, you play now as the last Kusagari, a mysterious prodigal son who has returned to his home of Caldera to exact revenge and bring justice upon those who have hunted down his kind. This is all you really need to know about this game’s plot as the atmosphere and game design seems to try to get across more of the themes of this story. This video game review features Red Steel 2 gameplay footage and commentary from CGR Undertow reviewer Ray.

CGR Undertow – The Conduit for Nintendo Wii
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow video game review of The Conduit from Sega for the Nintendo Wii from June 2009. You play as Michael Ford, a special agent for the United States government who has been tasked by your handler, simply known as John Adams, to track down and capture an international terrorist known as Prometheus who is working on weapons the likes of which have never been known in a plot against the United States. As you track down Prometheus to Washington DC, you’ll end up in the middle of a conspiracy that is paving the way for an alien invasion. Only with your agent survival skills and an experimental piece of technology known as the All-Seeing Eye, or ASE, will you have a chance of quelling this universal threat to mankind. This video game review features The Conduit gameplay footage and commentary from CGR Undertow reviewer Ray.

CGR Undertow – Super Mario Strikers for Nintendo GameCube
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Super Mario Strikers from Next Level Games and Nintendo for the Nintendo GameCube. Super Mario Strikers was the last of the Mario sports games released for the GameCube, and while those games were arguably at their best during those years, Strikers was one of their unexpected highlights. Like Mario Power Tennis and Mario Superstar Baseball before it, Super Mario Strikers offers an arcade twist on its respective sport, adding simple controls and item-driven mayhem to the game of soccer. This video review features video gameplay footage of Super Mario Strikers for the Nintendo GameCube and audio commentary from Classic Game Room’s Derek.

CGR Undertow – LittleBigPlanet 2 for PS3
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow video game review of Little Big Planet 2 from Media Molecule and Sony for the PS3 from January 2011. You play as the politically correct Sack Thing and must join the Alliance in order to save all of Little Big Planet and the imaginative creations of people everywhere from the evil Negativitron, a vacuum cleaner bent on wiping the slate clean on your Sack Thing and his new friends like Larry Da Vinci, the head of the Alliance. Only by going around Little Big Planet and taking out the Negativitron and his monstrous creations can you free your sack once and for all. This video game review features Little Big Planet 2 gameplay footage and commentary from CGR Undertow reviewer Ray.

CGR Undertow – Wacko for Arcade
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of the arcade game Wacko. Released to arcades in 1983, Wacko was another in a very long line of games from Midway, easily the leading producer of arcade games in the 1980s. You play Wacko as Kapt’n Krooz’r, a little alien with a big problem. Monsters are surrounding his ship, and it’s your job to help him clean house. Much like Robotron, you can move your ship freely through the hordes and fire at will in this matchmaking shooter. This video review features video gameplay footage of the arcade game Wacko and audio commentary from Classic Game Room’s Derek.

CGR Undertow – Satan’s Hollow for Arcade
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Satan’s Hollow from Bally Midway. Released to arcades in 1982, Satan’s Hollow uses the same shoot ‘em up template as many of the era’s classic space shooters, only it drops the altitude down 100,000 feet or so into the fiery pits of Hell…where weather reports are useless, because it rains blood from a lacerated sky on a daily basis. This video review features video gameplay footage of the arcade game Satan’s Hollow and audio commentary from Classic Game Room’s Derek.

CGR Undertow – X-Men for Sega Genesis
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of X-Men from Western Technologies, Inc. and SEGA for the SEGA Genesis. X-Men is a side-scrolling beat ‘em up with lots of platforming, a style of game that was the nineties equivalent to the modern day first-person shooter in that roughly one out of every two games on store shelves is the exact same thing. With four helper mutants at your one-time-use disposal, you play as four X-Men, swapping between them after dying the same way you could in the classic Ninja Turtles games of the era. This video review features video gameplay footage of X-Men for the SEGA Genesis and audio commentary from Classic Game Room’s Derek.

CGR Undertow – Sonic & Knuckles for Sega Genesis
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow video game review of Sonic & Knuckles for the Sega Genesis. As Sonic 3 was released without all the content and features it was originally intended to include, Sega followed up quickly with the release of Sonic & Knuckles in 1994. Utilizing a rarely seen cartridge technology, it was the first and only officially licensed lock-on cart that allowed for previous Sonic games to be plugged into it and expand their original content, most notably the chance to play as Knuckles the Echidna. As a stand-alone game it’s not much different from Sonic 3, but adds plenty of new features and platforming gameplay variety to continue Sonic’s 16-bit legacy. This review features Sonic & Knuckles gameplay footage and commentary from CGR Undertow reviewer Kevin.

CGR Undertow – Resistance: Fall of Man for PS3

Set in the year 1951, in an alternate history, you play as United States soldier Sgt. Nathan Hale who is on his way to Britain with his task force to help retrieve a secret weapon that the British have. CGR Undertow – Chronos Twins DX for Nintendo Wii
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Chronos Twins DX, a downloadable game from EnjoyUp for the Nintendo Wii’s WiiWare service. Chronos Twins DX has a lot in common with the classic action-platform games of the past. You move through 2D environments while shooting at enemies and jumping on platforms. The game’s hook is that your character exists in two separate times simultaneously. You’re controlling one character, but you have to be cognizant of what you’re doing in both the past and present. This video review features video gameplay footage of Chronos Twins DX for the Nintendo Wii and audio commentary from Classic Game Room’s Derek.

CGR Undertow – Blitz: The League II for Xbox 360
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow video game review of Blitz: The League II from the now defunct Midway Games for the Xbox 360 from October 2008. You play as “The Franchise,” the greatest football prospect to come out of college in decades and are drafted into the newly expanded League. The corrupt commissioner tries to persuade you to play for his personal team, the newly formed L.A. Riot, but instead you immediately get on his bad side by declaring you will play for only your hometown team. This sets in motion events that will see you try to climb your way through the League’s three divisions while trying to take down the corrupt Commissioner and his pet project L.A. Riot along the way to a championship. This video game review features Blitz: The League II gameplay footage and commentary from CGR Undertow reviewer Ray.

CGR Undertow – Mario Kart: Double Dash!! for Nintendo GameCube
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Mario Kart: Double Dash!! from Nintendo for the Nintendo GameCube. If you’ve raced through the Mushroom Kingdom before, the core principles of Double Dash!! should be familiar. Playing as some of the most beloved characters in video games, you race on a series of outrageously designed tracks in go-karts, using items like Koopa shells and banana peels to gain the advantage on your opponents. There are three speeds to choose from, four Cups to win — it’s a blueprint that has inspired both sequels and imitators, and that’s because it works. This video review features video gameplay footage of Mario Kart: Double Dash!! for the Nintendo GameCube and audio commentary from Classic Game Room’s Derek.

CGR Undertow – Chick Chick Boom for Nintendo Wii
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of chick chick BOOM, a downloadable game from tons of bits for the WiiWare service on the Nintendo Wii. chick chick BOOM pits two teams of five baby chickens against each other in a turn-based battle of poultry. You have a limited amount of time to attack using three different attacks — you can use explosives, heavy objects and plants. When you attack, you use the Wii Remote’s pointer, and it’s simple and fun. CGR Undertow – Sonic the Hedgehog for Sega Genesis
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow video game review of Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis. In the first installment of Sega’s flagship series featuring its eventually iconic mascot, Sonic’s first adventure hit the Genesis in 1991 in legendary fashion. Sega pushed the speed limits of typical side scrollers of the era and introduced plenty of new gameplay mechanics and a vivid art style to set Sonic apart from its competitors. The end result was a truly classic game that would set the groundwork for an immense gaming legacy that still continues today. This review features Sonic the Hedgehog gameplay footage and commentary from CGR Undertow reviewer Kevin.

CGR Undertow – Disney’s Aladdin for Sega Genesis
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow video game review of Disney’s Aladdin for the Sega Genesis by Virgin Interactive. One of many games based on the animated film, the Genesis version stands out with graphics and cel animation that looks straight out of the cartoon, and plenty of quality of side scrolling platform action to complement it. With the “help” of Abu and the Genie, you can control your favorite acrobatic scimitar swinging street rat in a glorious 16-bit quest to rescue Princess Jasmine from Jafar. CGR Undertow – Perfect Dark for N64
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Perfect Dark from Rare for the Nintendo 64. Perfect Dark tells a story about aliens, intergalactic war and government conspiracies — it sounds like something out of a cheap movie on the SyFy channel, but particularly for its era, Perfect Dark’s story was at least an interesting break from the FPS norm. The real reason to play the game, however, wasn’t the story or even Ms. Dark herself. It was the firepower, and Rare delivered it in spades. Perfect Dark boasts more than 30 weapons and gadgets, from futuristic guns that can scope through walls to a Psychosis Gun that confuses enemies. This video review features video gameplay footage of Perfect Dark for the Nintendo 64 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room’s Derek.

CGR Undertow – Sonic the Hedgehog 3 for Sega Genesis
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow video game review of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 for the Sega Genesis. Sonic and Tails are back at it again in another adventure, and this time Robonik’s tricked an Echidna named Knuckles into helping keep Sonic away from the Master Emerald. Numerous improvements have been made once again with some new maneuvers and special items, along with some great new levels featuring even more branching pathways than previous games. And the classic side scrolling platforming is still intact, making this one of the most refined and polished Sonic games of the series. This review features Sonic the Hedgehog 3 gameplay footage and commentary from CGR Undertow reviewer Kevin.
