Spanish actor, Paco Maestre, died on Thursday after suffering a heart attack while on set shooting for the TVE series, ‘Amar en tiempos revueltos’, where he played the role of Celso, a new character this series. He was just 53.
It happened on the set at the Ciudad de la Imagen, in Pozuelo de Alarcón in Madrid. He was rushed to hospital but died shortly after arrival. An autopsy is being carried out to establish the exact cause of death.
Theatre director, Ángel Facio told El Mundo, ‘When I needed a fat man, it was always Paco Maestre. He said he would remember the actor as someone who had a string of superb roles. He said the actor had a known heart condition, which had recently stopped him from going out for drinks at night with the crew.
'Paco Maestre was a top secondary actor with a magnificent voice'.
He had worked in television, cinema, zarzuela and musicals. Among his film credits are ‘La Mala Educación’ from Pedro Almodóvar, and ‘El Día de la Bestia’ from Álex de la Iglesia.
