New Zealand rescuers sift rubble, quake toll reaches 75

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth offered her sympathy for the former British colony and said in a statement she was “utterly shocked.”

There is an error with the sentence “Britain’s Queen Elizabeth offered her sympathy for the former British colony…”.

The message of sympathy was from the Queen of New Zealand to her people in the affected area.

While American journalists can’t seem to grasp the concept of Commonwealth Realms and one person being head of state in multiple countries, I would have thought someone in the UK would have been better versed.

Though people could argue this is a minor point, such problems detract from the entire article and bring into question what other Reuters reports contain inaccuracies.
