Zombiez Seeker for DS

There are some things that I have never desired in the form of media. I have never had a desire for books about gum stuck to shoes, or a desire for a movie about what people ate for breakfast. Like these examples, I have never had a desire for a rail shooter on the Nintendo DS that deals with zombies. It is a genre that has never produced a decent game in the last decade. However, developer Zoo attempts to change all of this with Zombiez Seeker. Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow for SNES

Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow for SNESWhen ghosts, beetles, giant mechanical spiders, and all sorts of supernatural nasties appear from the woodworks of a mansion on a mysterious island, what is a duck to do? Transform into a ninja of course! This is Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow for the Super Nintendo. (more…)

Saints Row for Xbox 360

Saints Row for X360When Saints Row was first announced, I thought it would be another GTA clone that was bound to be forgotten. Of course, we all know that many games that imitated the winning formula of Grand Theft Auto III ended up making little or no impact with gamers. So one day I rented Saints Row and played it on my Xbox 360 with modest expectations. Within ten minutes, I found the game rather fun and compelling and eventually I went back to playing it until completion. (more…)

Radiant Historia for DS Packaging Review

Radiant Historia for DS As you can clearly see by its box, Radiant Historia has some beautiful artwork on it. On the front there are a handful of the characters from the story arranged into an astounding painting. Seriously, it almost looks like a work done by Robert and is a poster advertising a famous movie rather than a game’s cover art. There are the chief characters and beginning companions below, prepared to join some battle that must be occurring on some other box in your DS library. (more…)

Rango for Xbox 360

You have no clue where Rango is going, which is just as much a testament to the feature film it’s based on as it is the game. However, the fourth wall breaking fun works in video game form because it’s easier to appreciate, and the goofiness hits right when Rango needs it.

No, this adaptation is not in any way original, and it probably has a lifetime subscription to Cliché Monthly. Our lead chameleon grinds on more rails, shimmies across more ledges, fights enough enemies, and climbs more staples than any other video game character will in their franchised lifetime. (more…)

Aerobiz Supersonic for SNES

Aerobiz Supersonic for SNESIf there is anything enjoyable about business simulation games, it’s the concept of being in control and making moves that impact the in-game world through economic developments. While such games are more popular on the PC, nothing stopped Koei from releasing Aerobiz Supersonic on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and Sega Genesis. Aerobiz Supersonic is a simulation game in which you take control of an airline company and your objective is to expand its operations, provide good service to world travelers, and become the number one airline within a number of years. X-Arcade Tankstick Controller

X-Arcade TankstickClassic Game Room reviews the X-ARCADE TANKSTICK from X-Arcade powered by Xgaming. This massive dual arcade joystick with a trak-ball can be used on PCs with USB inputs and on Sega Dreamcast, PS2 (and PS1), GameCube, PS3 and Xbox 360 with the appropriate adapters. Complex, expensive and difficult to program, the X-arcade Tankstick won’t be for those who aren’t serious about their gaming with some time, money and patience on their site. Awesome arcade-style gameplay is delivered when all is said and done though. For this review the Xarcade Tankstick was tested with PC games before and after programming, Mame emulators, PS2 and Sega Dreamcast. CGR recommends the Dreamstick from Dream Arcade for Xbox 360 because it is a 360 controller disassembled and built into an arcade stick to prevent lag. The Tankstick works well with PC, Dreamcast and PS2 (all tested for this review using adapters) but don’t expect to not do repair work on it. Build quality is questionable given the price but it’s nothing a butter knife and a few hours can’t fix, which is irritating. The Tankstick can be purchased as a massive controller as shown or bought with an X-Arcade stand up arcade machine. Versatility and style may be the X-Arcade Tankstick’s biggest assets, but those really interested in a house-sized joystick may also want to consider a custom job for the same price. In any event, it is impressive and replaces the Dreamcast controller which needs replacing for many games like Capcom vs. SNK 2 and Marvel vs. Capcom 2.
