BOSS Controller Shell for Wii Review
Wii owners craving a more traditional control option have largely had their needs met with the classic controllers, but what about if you’ve got Wii exclusives that don’t support it? If you’re tired of controlling top-notch games like Donkey Kong Country Returns and New Super Mario Bros. Wii with the standard remote, then the BOSS controller shell is for you. (more…)
Space Harrier for Sega Master System
Classic Game Room reviews SPACE HARRIER for Sega Master System from 1986, the 8-bit version of the Yu Suzuki arcade classic. While the Sega Master System doesn’t handle the game with smooth perfection or arcade quality visuals it does a great job trying. Relatively responsive controls make playing Space Harrier fun but choppy visuals ruin that arcade quality experience. It was difficult to see exactly where enemies were or to avoid obstacles, but back in the 80′s this game was the bomb on the Master System. Fans of Space Harrier should look for better versions these days like the Sega Saturn version, Wii arcade, PS3 and 360 or 32X. This CGR review of Space Harrier on Sega Master System has gameplay from Space Harrier on Sega Master System showing Space Harrier game play.

CGR Undertow – Chronos Twins DX for Nintendo Wii
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Chronos Twins DX, a downloadable game from EnjoyUp for the Nintendo Wii’s WiiWare service. Chronos Twins DX has a lot in common with the classic action-platform games of the past. You move through 2D environments while shooting at enemies and jumping on platforms. The game’s hook is that your character exists in two separate times simultaneously. You’re controlling one character, but you have to be cognizant of what you’re doing in both the past and present. This video review features video gameplay footage of Chronos Twins DX for the Nintendo Wii and audio commentary from Classic Game Room’s Derek.

Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 3: THE MANHATTAN PROJECT for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: The Manhattan Project was released in 1992 from Konami. A very simple plot is found here. The Shredder has captured April O’neill once again and has somehow made the entire island of Manhattan float. It is up to the Turtles to stop the Shredder and rescue April. This CGR Undertow video game review features Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: The Manhattan Project video gameplay footage and commentary from Classic Game Room’s Derek.

CGR Undertow – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game for NES
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES II: THE ARCADE GAME for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). This videogame was released in 1990 at the apex of TMNT popularity from Ultra Games and Konami. You are able to play as one of the four heroes in a half-shell in this side-scrolling action beat ‘em up. It is all about personal preference here. This CGR Undertow review features TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES II: THE ARCADE GAME video gameplay footage and commentary. This review is from Classic Game Room’s Derek.

Xevious for NES
Classic Game Room reviews XEVIOUS for Nintendo Entertainment System from 1988, the classic Namco SHMUP from the arcades. Shoot those dreaded bad guys with your lousy space ship weapons and bomb their silver temples and circle huts, but watch out for spinning metal plates! Xevious is the definiitive classic space ship shooter from the early 80′s and gets a fine release on the NES from Bandai Namco. This CGR review of Xevious on Nintendo has gameplay from Xevious on NES showing Xevious shooter game play in HD action.

Blaster Master Overdrive for Nintendo Wii
Classic Game Room HD reviews BLASTER MASTER OVERDRIVE for Nintendo Wii from Sunsoft. This remake of the classic 1988 NES hit captures the spirit and gameplay of the original and adds new features and modifications to SOPHIA. Use a grappling hook and go Bionic Commando style on waves of mindless enemies lumbering around in caves and hover over spaces too wide to jump. Does this re-envisioned Nintendo WiiWare version of Blaster Master have what it takes to live up to the original? This CGR review of Blaster Master Overdrive for Nintendo Wii has gameplay from Sunsoft’s BlasterMaster Overdrive in HD showing game play on Nintendo Wii. Plays with the Wiimote. Drive through caves and crawl out of your tank truck thing to swim and battle end bosses in challenging old school style 2D run and gun end boss battle fights.

Resident Evil 5 for Xbox 360
Classic Game Room HD reviews RESIDENT EVIL 5 for Xbox 360, also for PS3 Playstation 3. One of Capcom’s flagship titles shines with amazing visuals and style but moves along at a snail’s pace. This time around players take up arms as Chris Redfield or Sheeva (resident hottie). Using aiming, puzzle solving and quicktime butting mashing to defeat waves of monsters, zombies and folks out for no good. This CGR review of RE5 Resident Evil 5 has gameplay from Resident Evil 5 showing Xbox 360 game play (which looks identical to PS3 gameplay) in action.
