Dux for Sega Dreamcast
Classic Game Room reviews DUX for Sega Dreamcast, a 2009 “indie” release for the game console that won’t stop rocking! This CGR review of DUX for Sega Dreamcast from Hucast.net and Kontechs has gameplay from Dux, a horizontally scrolling space ship shooter or “SHMUP” for Sega Dreamcast where you fly a spaceship against endless waves of alien scumbags! Cool visuals, awesome music and a fun R-Type style make Dux a treat to play for serious fans of the genre. While the game could have used more options the overall presentation is “indie” and slick while still being playable and fun. Region-free, Dux works on all game consoles (CGR was not able to confirm this on a PAL Dreamcast though), it outputs NTSC and VGA video. Plays with the standard Dreamcast controller or arcade sticks and saves your high scores on Dreamcast VMU card. Dux is a fun space ship shooter in the side scrolling Shmup genre and proves that the Dreamcast has many more years ahead of it!
CGR Undertow – LittleBigPlanet 2 for PS3
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow video game review of Little Big Planet 2 from Media Molecule and Sony for the PS3 from January 2011. You play as the politically correct Sack Thing and must join the Alliance in order to save all of Little Big Planet and the imaginative creations of people everywhere from the evil Negativitron, a vacuum cleaner bent on wiping the slate clean on your Sack Thing and his new friends like Larry Da Vinci, the head of the Alliance. Only by going around Little Big Planet and taking out the Negativitron and his monstrous creations can you free your sack once and for all. This video game review features Little Big Planet 2 gameplay footage and commentary from CGR Undertow reviewer Ray.

CGR Undertow – Sonic & Knuckles for Sega Genesis
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow video game review of Sonic & Knuckles for the Sega Genesis. As Sonic 3 was released without all the content and features it was originally intended to include, Sega followed up quickly with the release of Sonic & Knuckles in 1994. Utilizing a rarely seen cartridge technology, it was the first and only officially licensed lock-on cart that allowed for previous Sonic games to be plugged into it and expand their original content, most notably the chance to play as Knuckles the Echidna. As a stand-alone game it’s not much different from Sonic 3, but adds plenty of new features and platforming gameplay variety to continue Sonic’s 16-bit legacy. This review features Sonic & Knuckles gameplay footage and commentary from CGR Undertow reviewer Kevin.

CGR Undertow – Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for Sega Genesis
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow video game review of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Genesis. In the first sequel to Sega’s flagship series on the Sega Genesis, Sonic is joined by a new friend Tails in an all new quest to stop the evil Dr. Robotnik aka Eggman. The core gameplay elements are still there but this follow up features numerous improvements to make things even faster and flashier, including the new spin dash move, 2 player versus and cooperative modes, and some amazing graphics and memorable music. This review features Sonic the Hedgehog 2 gameplay footage and commentary from CGR Undertow reviewer Kevin.

CGR Undertow – Chronos Twins DX for Nintendo Wii
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Chronos Twins DX, a downloadable game from EnjoyUp for the Nintendo Wii’s WiiWare service. Chronos Twins DX has a lot in common with the classic action-platform games of the past. You move through 2D environments while shooting at enemies and jumping on platforms. The game’s hook is that your character exists in two separate times simultaneously. You’re controlling one character, but you have to be cognizant of what you’re doing in both the past and present. This video review features video gameplay footage of Chronos Twins DX for the Nintendo Wii and audio commentary from Classic Game Room’s Derek.

CGR Undertow – Disney’s Aladdin for Sega Genesis
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow video game review of Disney’s Aladdin for the Sega Genesis by Virgin Interactive. One of many games based on the animated film, the Genesis version stands out with graphics and cel animation that looks straight out of the cartoon, and plenty of quality of side scrolling platform action to complement it. With the “help” of Abu and the Genie, you can control your favorite acrobatic scimitar swinging street rat in a glorious 16-bit quest to rescue Princess Jasmine from Jafar. This review features Disney’s Aladdin gameplay footage and commentary from CGR Undertow reviewer Kevin.

CGR Undertow – Kid Chameleon for Sega Genesis
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow video game review of Kid Chameleon for the Sega Genesis. A side scrolling cult classic with attitude, you play as the multi-faceted Kid Chameleon, who’s “too tough to beat.” Luckily you can change into a variety of suits to take on Heady Metal, an evil video game boss in a virtual reality game that is abducting anyone who plays it. With over 90 levels ahead of you, you can transform into a knight, samurai, hockey mask wearing axe murderer, skeleton tank driver, and plenty of other bizarre forms. This review features Kid Chameleon gameplay footage from the Sega Genesis Collection on the PlayStation 2, and commentary from CGR Undertow reviewer Kevin.

CGR Undertow – Ecco the Dolphin for Sega Genesis
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow video game review of Ecco the Dolphin for the Sega Genesis by Novotrade International. Ecco is on a quest to rescue his pod from aliens in this innovative underwater platform game released in 1992. Its colorful art style and forward thinking interface design come together for a unique 16-bit gaming experience with an eco-friendly twist. And as cute as this little dolphin might be, underneath this game’s appearance lurks a brutally challenging mind trip with lots of dark and intense atmosphere. This review features Ecco the Dolphin gameplay footage from the Sega Genesis Collection on the PlayStation 2, and commentary from CGR Undertow reviewer Kevin.

Super Mario Bros. for NES
Classic Game Room HD reviews SUPER MARIO BROS. for NES Nintendo Entertainment System from 1985, the game that changed the world! (even more than Cosmic Carnage) The iconic Super Mario Brothers is the video game which helped to life the video game industry out of the funk in the mid 1980′s. It blew away the minds of countless kids in the 80′s who immediately wanted a Nintendo to replace their aging Atari 2600 (boo!). The game was so remarkably well made and different from the vast majority of other home console adventure games back in the day. Awesome music, Japanese style and puffy clouds, mushrooms and flying turtles. Super Mario Brothers was the must play game in its day. This CGR review of Super Mario Bros. on NES has gameplay from Super Mario Brothers showing one and two player game play from Nintendo’s amazing 2D sidescrolling adventure. Super Mario Bros. is available today on Nintendo Wii Virtual Console and other Nintendo platforms.

CGR Undertow – Sonic the Hedgehog 3 for Sega Genesis
Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow video game review of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 for the Sega Genesis. Sonic and Tails are back at it again in another adventure, and this time Robonik’s tricked an Echidna named Knuckles into helping keep Sonic away from the Master Emerald. Numerous improvements have been made once again with some new maneuvers and special items, along with some great new levels featuring even more branching pathways than previous games. And the classic side scrolling platforming is still intact, making this one of the most refined and polished Sonic games of the series. This review features Sonic the Hedgehog 3 gameplay footage and commentary from CGR Undertow reviewer Kevin.
