It appears that grievances by some staff members in Airports Vanuatu (AVL), who reportedly bypassed the official line of communication and instead went straight to the minister, resulted in the attempted suspension and subsequent sacking of the AVL board and attempted suspension of expatriate advisor David Miles.
Normally if there are allegations of malpractice against a board they would be suspended and replaced whilst an investigation takes place but in this case Minister of Finance Moana Carcasses has agreed with Public Utilities Minister Harry Iauko, that the Airports Vanuatu board be sacked and replaced, however concerns remain in the private sector over whether the appointment of some of the new board has been in line with the...
