Time for Times Face Time on Facebook

OK folks, now is the time to get with The Times on Facebook. Why? How about the latest greatest tools you need to choose the right media for your clients, along with prizes, giveways, and tales of cocktails past. See pics of yourself at a GoodTimes party or see one of your friends who claimed they were stuck late working that evening! Find out which of your friends who went to work at other shops are still in the business, and what they're up to. Most importantly, keep up to date on the parties of record for the newspaper of record. Here's the link, might as well add it to your favorites now! NYTGTFB! -- Jon Rekedal

The New York Times Means Business

What time is it? It's Business Time! Jon Rekedal, your blogger of yore signing back in. Today the topic is business. Specifically, you may be hearing a lot of claims around the marketplace about who is the biggest national newspaper, who has the biggest business audience, and who reaches the most businesspeople in New York. Well friends, there are some very simple facts to keep in mind when considering where to allocate your media spend intended to reach the business community. Consider:

According to the estimable Scarborough Research NY study 2009, the biggest newspaper business audience in New York is 827,047 which is the NYDMA business professionals readership of The New York Times. That other paper that claims to be the bible of business, their readership among NYDMA business professionals is less than half of the Times' at 408,399. This brings up an interesting question: if your client needs to spend their dollars as efficiently as possible, which buy has a greater reach against the target?

OK, so what is the best section to advertise in to reach these business professionals? Let's go with the one that appeals to them most directly, and allows your client to get the biggest impact, along with that newspaper rarity, keepsake value. (Aside: you wanna talk newspaper keepsake value? which title becomes the t-shirt? this one!) Anyway, back to the topic: On May 6, The New York Times publishes its annual Business Travel special broadsheet section. Think about who this section appeals to: NYT readers who want to read a special section all about Business Travel. You already know how valuable our readers are, and now you can reach the very best of our nationwide business audience with this special section.

So? Let's talk. Give a call to 212-556-7756. You gotta book for Business Travel before April 23. Call me and I'll send you one of last year's sections. - Jon
