The Malaysian Consulate in Saudi Arabia announced an increase in the number of Saudi tourists to the country by a 12.6 percent since last year, especially during the short break this year due to the affordable online tickets, Arab News reporter.

The number of travelers from the most prominent cities in the Kingdom, chiefly Riyadh and Jeddah increased significantly to reach around 1,500 in the first weeks of February, according to Malaysian Airlines.

The official spokesman for Malaysian Airlines in Jeddah stated that an increasing number of people are choosing Malaysia over Lebanon and Egypt, making it a top-destination for travelers this season.

He also stated that many expatriates are currently afraid of going to Egypt, due to the current situation in the country.
