New York, NY - Fifty-eight weeks after its release, Prince Royce’s self-titled debut album has become the #1 album in the country marking an unprecedented achievement for a developing Latin artist.

“I feel extremely blessed and I am so grateful for my fans that have made this happen; for Top Stop Music, my record label who always knew this was possible; and for all of the radio stations, the media and retail who have given me so much support,” Royce expressed upon learning the news.

“We are beyond proud of Royce’s success and what it signifies for the industry. It proves that with the choosing of the right songs along with the proper setup and planning, the right team can break a developing Latin artist. This story infuses new life to an otherwise challenging music business environment and it is exactly what our industry needs,” said Sergio George, the President of independent record label Top Stop Music and the person who signed Royce.

“Prince Royce” which debuted at #15 on March 5th of 2010, was in the top 20 by June and then reached the top 10 in September of the same year. On the last week of September 2010 the album reached the top 5 and “Prince Royce” has remained at the top 5 ever since, with the exception of one week in which it charted at #6.
