Libya: 'Shambolic' situation sees rebels lose towns

Help

Rebels in Libya are retreating in the face of a military advance by pro-Gaddafi forces.

Having already fled the towns of Bin Jawad and Ras Lanuf, the rebels are now retreating from Brega and heading back towards Ajdabiya.

Some witnesses said civilians had begun to flee further east towards the rebel-held city of Benghazi.

The BBC's Ben Brown said the rebels had lost confidence as they are out-gunned by Gaddafi forces.
