Well the baby has been born! Our first record is out and we cannot wait for the world to hear it.  It has been an amazing few months and the hits keep coming.  As “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not” climbs the country charts, iTunes charts and the GAC Top 20 Country Countdown, new tour dates are coming in and a major tour announcement is coming soon and we are thrilled for this opportunity. New duo Thompson Square is enjoying the success of their debut single, “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not.” The catchy track has cracked the Top 15 on both the Billboard and Mediabase country charts and has over 386,000 downloads on iTunes. Today, the duo, who happen to be married to one another, have something else to celebrate – the release of their debut album, Thompson Square. Writing nine of the 12 tracks themselves, the album is about the realities of relationships, exploring the good times, the bad times, and everything in between.

“There are songs that will make you laugh, make you dance, make you cry,” Keifer Thompson said. “We tried to touch upon the whole gamut of emotions.”

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We hope y’all had a great holiday.  We sure did.  It was great to have a little time off from 2010.  What a great year it was and we are so very thankful for all the blessings that it held.

Well here we are in 2011! “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” is climbing the charts and doing great! Our album release is set for February 8 and we could not be more fired up about it!  Years of sweat and tears come down to one day– a 12-song debut album, on a little piece of plastic.  Me and Shawna plan on going to the store at midnight and picking up a copy (or two)!  We highly recommend y’all doin the same. LOL!!!

Well the Jason Aldean tour was a blast! Getting to sing and hang with Jason and Luke Bryan was a really great experience. A special thanks to Jason for having us!

Good times for T2 right now! Our song just made it into the Top 30 on the radio charts and continues to climb. We are beyond excited. We’re making a lot of new friends and fans out on the road and it’s been great getting to know some of you on Facebook and Twitter. Thanks for all your posts, likes and comments. Keep ‘em coming!

Last week something happened that we never thought would. We debuted on Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman Auditorium!! We could feel something very special as we walked out on that stage. The presence of all of those who had come and gone before us surrounded us. It’s really hard to describe the feeling we got when we started singing on that stage. We are so thankful to the Opry for letting us take part in such a monumental event. It really was a huge thing for us! Continue Reading

As we write this we are having a “fresh breakfast” at Holiday Inn in Raleigh, NC.  After we eat and I talk myself out of working out, we’ll drive to Fayetteville NC for a show benefit for “Larry’s Kids.”  It’s been a great week playing out east for XTU in Philadelphia and The Eagle in Virginia Beach.  These guys are great!

The Aldean tour is going great but we’re sad to say that the last three shows of the tour is next weekend.  We are looking forward to what next year has in store for us as far as touring. We are so ready to get out there and play, play, play. 

Our single, “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not”, is still climbing the charts. This whole process is really amazing.  It is so much more than just an artist and a song.  There is a whole lot of hard work that goes into it and we have a great bunch of folks working their buns off for us at our label.

This week is another first in the life of T2.  It’s CMA week and it will be the first time we get to do all the radio remotes and the first time at least a few people will know who the heck we are.  We’re playing a private show at the Hard Rock Café downtown with Jason Aldean and some other of our label mates on Tuesday.

Hello Er’body,

Since last we wrote, we have finished most of our debut record.  We couldn’t be happier of how it is turning out.  The past few weeks have been very busy and that is fine with us.  We’ve been all over the place playing shows and we took a few days to go to Oklahoma and celebrate Keifer’s parents’ 50^th anniversary. We’ve also been preparing for the upcoming tour with Jason Aldean.

Recently we rehearsed our new band for 10 hours a day for 3 days. We took a few breaks to go to the studio and continue the recording process.  It’s been nuts.  The band sounds killer and everyone is really talented. 

October 21 was the first date of the Jason Aldean tour and it was incredible!  Continue Reading

Two things that a starving artist dreams of is hearing your song on the radio and seeing your video on TV. This week we got to experience the video thang. We recently visited GAC in Nashville and performed for their staff. What a great, fired-up bunch of people. Since our last blog, we had a week or so back in Nashville catching up on sleep, writing and continuing the song selection process for our upcoming debut album release in the spring. And then it happened!

We have been waiting for this to happen our entire life. We did a show for Thunder Country in Grand Rapids, MI, where there were thousands of people. At one point in the show, we announced we were going to do our new single “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” and the crowd went nuts! As we looked out in the crowd during the song, we realized everyone was singing with us. It was a moment we’ll never forget. Thanks to everyone for making that a very special moment.  

On Monday we went to the studio with our producers and cut five new songs. The session was killer and we’re getting closer to having the songs for our record. We cannot wait for everyone to hear what we’ve been working on for so long. It’s going to be great.

September started out with traffic school for me, Keifer. That’s always a great use of time and money. I guess I was due; it’s been awhile since I’ve had a ticket. All we wanted to do was make a quick u-turn and grab some Chik-Fil-A.  Continue Reading

We had a huge 1st week on iTunes with our new single “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not.” We can’t thank everyone enough for buying our single. You are the best!

We went to Minneapolis with Andy and Anastasia from People Magazine this week to play for some of their advertisers who represent some great companies. Everyone was so laid back and fun. A company called Farm Boy/ Farm Girl had one of the coolest offices we’ve ever seen. It looked more like a hip little store than an office. They gave us some great clothes and threw a little party for us coming by. Continue Reading

This past couple weeks were chock-plum-full of T2 goodness.

More firsts in tsquare world. We shot our first video, opened up for Brooks and Dunn and welcomed our new single “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” into the world. 

First, our video was shot last week in Florida and what an amazing experience. Working with director Wes Edwards and his team made it even more memorable.  We shot in beautiful St. Augustine at some incredible locations.  After two very long and hot days of shooting in the unforgiving Florida sun, we were wiped out. It’s much harder than we ever thought it would be.  Everybody was changing clothes every few hours and it didn’t take long before they looked like they jumped in a pool. But we’re not complaining, we’d do it again in a second.  We got to rock out on the beach, took a ride on an old carousel, sang in a castle and even stole a smooch inside an amazing lighthouse.  All in all, we didn’t want it to end.  It was awesome! We can’t wait for y’all to see it.  Continue Reading
