Rackspace

Rackspace called us in July 2009 regarding a new CMS for their EMEA group of sites. Having long been fans of their work, it was an exciting morning in the office when that phone call happened. Following a presentation and proposal, we were selected for the project and had to deliver the first of the sites within four weeks. Rackspace.co.uk was delivered on time, since then we have continued to roll out to other territories.

Using involve and TYPO3 – the design required using a fair amount of AJAX, something that we are pretty comfortable with. There was also a requirement to integrate with Salesforce, work with several third party systems including tracking and their Livechat service that anyone visiting a Rackspace site will have encountered.

As you would expect Rackspace have very exacting standards about page load times, and compatibility… all quite a challenge to meet within the tight deadline.

We have provided training for their own development team, and we now work with them to support their existing sites and roll out to the remaining territories.
