Ya Boy Feat. Akon – “Lock Down”
AUDIO By Beware on April 13, 2011 at 9:38 amWhen a hot prospect signs to a well-known artist’s imprint, a feature from said superstar for the ensuing talent’s first hit is assumed. When Ya Boy signed to Akon’s Konvict Music label in 2010, little did he know “Lock Down” was the song that would officially kick off his California Konvict LP and the next chapter his nearlydecade-long career. A perfect compliment to a cool breeze and some blazing haze, this blueprint for branching out finds the Bay Area bandit and his boss behind the wheel of a single that should keep convertibles topless, dubs thrown and the Kon Man happy with his investment.
It may only achieve regional success, but this what YB’s been waiting for.

We Run LA was pretty big all over cali, not just the bay obviously, but gettin out of Cali is going to take something different than this. although its solid as f’ck, it doesnt have any techno-pop, soft auto-tune ass sangin, synthy Beat, out of control 808′s and tinny ,hollow 150mph snares. and the hardest shit you can rap about on the radio is smokin weed these days. no street talk, please.
I’m glad to hear some new music from YB that’s not on some club hype. This is smooth and great to drive around to.
ya boys a cool dude… nice rapper. but when he said we run la and that niggas from the bay he lost me. aint noone from the bay run shit down here.
