Last week's snowfall and cooler weather across Europe was relatively short lived and warmer conditions have now returned.

The new snowfall provided some good riding over the weekend but it didn't hold up for too long, especially lower down the mountain and where it fell on bare ground.

On the whole, the higher resorts throughout Europe have the best conditions. This has been the case in Austria for much of the season but the further into April we progress the more the spring weather is taking effect with only the very highest slopes escaping the grips of spring. This doesn't mean the skiing is bad though. Spring snow can provide some great opportunities for skiing so head high and to the glacier resorts to get the best skiing.

Switzerland is holding up well too. Ski Club Leaders in high altitude resorts say that although lower pistes are slushy and wet, the highest slopes are faring pretty well.

Italy's highest resorts also have some good conditions. Although a few resorts closed over the weekend, those that are still open are able to offer some good piste skiing higher up.

It's the same story in France. Lower areas are still suffering and it's the higher resorts where things are the best. Unfortunately France saw less snowfall than other regions of Europe. The advice is the same as elsewhere; head high to get the best skiing.

You can still enjoy skiing in Scotland as Cairngorm plans to open every day this week.

All of our featured Bulgarian resorts have closed for the season.

The best area to go for fresh snow in America is Utah. The two most talked about resorts, Snowbird and Alta, are both open until May and have great snow conditions. It should be a brilliant final month.

Skiing is becoming more limited in Canada now due to many resorts closing, but those still open offer superb skiing. You can ski at Whistler until 30th May and at Banff until 23rd May. Kicking Horse and Revelstoke are both open for the Easter weekend too.
