Ramon Nunez against Lincoln reserves

Leeds United have agreed a deal for Honduran striker Ramon Nunez to remain on loan at Scunthorpe United until the end of the season.

Ramon has made four appearances, but his initial loan spell is due to expire on Friday, and new Iron boss Alan Knill is keen to keep the player on.

He scored his first goal in English football at the weekend as Scunthorpe picked up a vital win against Crystal Palace to move them within three points of Championship safety.

Speaking to the Scunthorpe Telegraph, Nunez said: "I am grateful to Scunthorpe for the opportunity they have given me to come here and get some games in.

"I am happy here at Scunthorpe and I would like to stay and help them stay in the Championship. It is important for them to do that.

"And I think with the new manager, the new ideas he has brought in and the players that are here, we can do that."
