Hit the downtown StrEATS for Food Truck Heaven

The Vegas StrEATS food festival hits the streets of downtown for a second time following the success of its March debut. StrEATS kicks off before sunset and features local food trucks, DJs, live bands, artists and street-wear companies. Best of all, admission to this all-night event is free. The second StrEATS event will kick off 6 p.m. April 9 at 600 E. Fremont St., and will feature local DJs, two additional food trucks, local artists and street-wear brands such as Civilian Clothing. New Cosmo events highlight chefs, music, wine

No need to beware the Ides of March—the 15th brings with it a great new monthly event at the Cosmopolitan. The Fifteenth is a monthly dining series highlighting the Cosmo’s resident culinarians as well as guest chefs. As the name implies, the dinners take place on the 15th of each month. The series launched in February with the Cosmo’s own chef and restaurateur Costas Spiliadis from Estiatorio Milos. Read more »

What do you get when you put three outstanding Las Vegas chefs in a Utah nightclub basement with guitarist Slash? We’re still not quite sure, but it was both tasty and entertaining. Vegas Seven was front and center as guest chef Kerry Simon served up a four-course dinner plus amuse bouche to the star-studded assembly at Sundance’s eighth annual ChefDance dinner series. Thinking inside the bun with Fine Concepts’ latest: i❤burgers

All apologies to Huckabees fans, but i❤burgers—the Palazzo’s new high-end burger joint’s name—is articulated as “I Love Burgers.” Fine Concepts’ CEO Jeffrey Fine (brother Jonathan Fine of Rockhouse and PBR Rock Bar is also a partner) says he’ll open an “approachable” gourmet burger concept “by the end of the year” in the former Mainland Asian Noodles space. With seating for 200, i❤burgers will serve lunch and dinner with an eye toward capturing late-night business via a walk-up counter, which will double as a daiquiri/milkshake bar. Read more »
