United Nations Development Group unite and deliver effective support for countries
Country Support
In order to ensure that responses to UNCTs are effective and timely, UNDG Africa is supported by a Management Coordination Unit (MCU) comprising of:

• A Secretariat located in Johannesburg and aimed at providing UNCTs with a single interlocutor for UN inter-agency service delivery;
• Five Technical Clusters: Quality Support and Assurance (CCA/UNDAF), HIV/AIDS, Health, Food Security, and Emergency Preparedness and Humanitarian Response; and
• Two Advisory Groups: Capacity Development and MDGs, and Gender and Human Rights.

The MCU has set up a roster of experts that can be drawn from the member agencies, funds, and programmes.

For more detailed information on the role and functions of the technical clusters and the UNDG Africa secretariat, please refer to the RDT and MCU TORs.

How to Request Assistance from the UNDG
Step one: UNCT completes and submits a request for support form to the UNDG through the RDT Secretariat.

Step two: the Secretariat reviews the request for support and channels the request to the relevant technical cluster for follow-up with the UNCT.

Step three: Once support provided is satisfactory, the UNCT confirms completion of support to the MCU, through the completion of a feedback form for reporting and quality support review purposes to the UNDG.
