From the MoviesWar is good for business. The InterGalactic Banking Clan was just one of several major bodies of commerce that positioned itself to profit from the growing Clone Wars. San Hill, Chairman of the clan, joined the Confederacy of Independent Systems on Geonosis, but only committed his forces in a non-exclusive arrangement.
During the Clone Wars, Hill served on the Separatist Council, the board of executives that funded and governed the Confederacy of Independent Systems under Count Dooku and General Grievous. The banker was killed by Darth Vader when the Sith mastermind behind the Clone Wars no longer had need for the Separatists.
From the Expanded UniverseA Muun from Munnilinst, the gaunt Hill had a pale complexion from years of working indoors. In the economic turbulence that accompanied the Separatist movement, the Banking Clan executives profited handsomely from numerous worlds minting their own independent currencies.
In the weeks after the start of the Clone Wars, San Hill went to the banking world of Aargau to raise money for the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Navigating the labyrinthine interiors of Aargau's commerce centers, he struck bargains with the criminal underworld to supplement the riches of the Separatists.
When the Clone Wars battlefront came to his homeworld of Muunilinst, Hill commanded his droid forces from a war room atop a large command tower. Hill hid behind the protection of legions of robotic soldiers and the merciless bounty hunter Durge, but the Republic was nonetheless able to infiltrate his headquarters, and take him into custody.
Behind the ScenesSan Hill was realized as a computer-generated character in Episode II. His gaunt form is draped in CG wardrobe developed by Concept Artist Dermot Power.
