The end of the school year is approaching fast. With the end of the school year comes the end of many scout meetings and various other clubs which have been busy all year long. Sure teachers get paid but many do SO much above and beyond what they have to do, that I like to remember them with a special end of the year gift. Personally, I don't think any gift can say, "Thank you, I appreciate everything you do," more than a homemade gift.

When I sew, I tend to just keep digging in and never clean up as I go... fact is I don't even clean up immediately after I finish a project. This usually leads to a major mess and things piling up royally! I think I was better at cleaning up my messes when I used the kitchen table to sew... mainly because we had to eat. Now I have a sewing room and I just walk away when other duties call.
The other day I kept tossing this big piece of paper around, knowing it was the pattern I had made for an ironing board cover. It finally dawned on me, that if I put it away, I could use it again in the future... and I found the PERFECT place to store the pattern! I folded it up neatly and taped it to the bottom of the ironing board. I know the actual ironing board will last a lot longer than the cover so I will be able to find the pattern immediately when I need it again.

One of my favorite things about springtime is hanging the laundry out on the clothes line. I don't care how many I've tried, there is NO product on the market that can produce that clothes line fresh smell. Every once in a while, in the middle o f winter, I will hang the sheets out even if it is to freeze dry them so that I can enjoy that wonderful smell. The only problem is that I forget to bring the clothes pin bag inside... and the winter weather is not kind to any kind of clothes pin bag. Time for a new one!

Somehow Mother's Day managed to come along without me noticing... and Mom is too special to ignore and not do something special for her on that special day! The gas stations are straining many budgets right now. Luckily, most Mom's love a gift for the thought and special sentiments that go with it rather than you going into debt to buy a gift.
