Follow Up On Mecklenburg Sheriff Controversey

Last month the Mecklenburg County Democratic Party attempted to replace outgoing Sheriff Pendergraph with disgraced black attorney Nick Mackey. Wherever black NC politicians seem to go corruption doesn’t seem to follow far behind and neither does the black community hesitate to play the race card to protect one of it’s own. Now the County Commission is debating on whether to allow this appointment to go forward in light of Mackey’s past bankruptcy and quiting the police force before he would’ve been fired over lying about his hours.

In following this story one can’t help but miss the growing pressure and loud voices emanating from Charlotte’s black community urging this appointment despite Mackey’s past record. Our members should remind our kinsmen that we must display our own racial solidarity as blacks are so apt at doing. Mecklenburg County can’t allow itself to be bullied by ethnic politics and communities seeking to foist one of their own into the key position of enforcing law and order.  We can only hope the County Commission demonstrates good common sense and sends Mackey back to his law office emptyhanded.
