Close the Winter Sports boxIt's been a warm week in Austria and spring conditions have been dominant on our featured glacier resorts. However lots of snow is forecast for Friday 27th and Saturday 28th May but this will fall as rain below about 2500m.
In Switzerland, Zermatt was unfortunately closed for skiing on Thursday 26th May due to strong winds and stormy weather high up.
Whistler in Canada is enjoying the final week of winter operations. They close on 30th May but the Horstman Glacier will open for summer skiing on 18th June. They still have an amazing snow base for the time of year which should ensure great glacier skiing.
Timberline in America has well over four metres of snow on the Palmer Snowfield and fresh snow is forecast over the coming days.
Perisher opened for a bonus pre-season weekend last week but will now be closed until the official summer skiing season start on 11th June. All our other Australian resorts are yet to open.
