After last summer’s successful residency in Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall, so-called enfant terrible choreographer Michael Clark is back. This time he presents ‘Michael Clark Company at Tate Modern – Part II: New Work’, a site-specific installation with a combination of his own dancers and volunteering members of the public. Time Out’s own Blogmistress, Sonya Barber, is one of the troupe of selected ‘non-dancers’ who, having rehearsed herself silly, takes to the stage this Wednesday to Sunday. Expect a slick and stylish show (fingers-crossed!) with a great soundtrack: all in all, a fitting tribute to the immense hall.

Time Out was the only London magazine at Apple’s keynote announcement in San Francisco last night. As reported on the news, CEO Steve Jobs announced a radically upgraded operating system for iPhone and iPad users, including a messaging system aimed at matching the convenience of BlackBerry Messenger’s instant messaging technology. The newest service, iCloud, will let users store music, documents, calendar details and more remotely – and for free. Both launch in the autumn. There was no new iPhone but expect that with this upgraded software.

Jackson’s Lane launches ‘Postcards’ this Wednesday (to July 20), a 6 week festival celebrating new circus, clowning, cabaret and experimental performance. ‘Postcards’ is a riotous cacophony of golden nuggets by dozens of performers including Bryony Kimmings (above), Edward Rapley, Francesca Martello, Wendy Houston, Collectif (below, top) and Marawa the Amazing (below, bottom). The festival kicks off with aerial performances from Zu Aerial, Inverted Dance and Gisele Edwards this Wednesday. All tickets are £10; get booking.
