Binnie, Alexander Richardson (1839–1917)

English engineer. He was appointed engineer to the city of Bradford in 1875 and was and chief engineer to the London County Council 1890–1901. His engineering feats include the Blackwall Tunnel, Bradford Waterworks, and Barking Road Bridge.

Binnie was born in London. He was president of the Institute of Civil Engineers and was engaged on the Welsh railways 1862–66 and in the Indian Public Works Department 1867–74.
