'Harry Potter' First Screen Test: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint In Original Scene (VIDEO)

As the epic, eight episode "Harry Potter" book-to-film series closes in on revealing its final chapter, it's easy to take for granted that its stars, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, are now full-fledged adults. With so many movies, the progression has been so gradual and natural on screen that one almost forgets just how young the three leads were when the film series began.

So here's a reminder.

Warner Bros. has released a video of the three in their very first screen test for "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," years ahead of maturation but still nailing down their respective parts. Watson, as Hermoine, is a know it all reading about Nicolas Flamel, while Radcliffe and Grint, as Harry and Ron, shrug in confusion. Even then, it was obvious that they embodied the parts.

Also included is a brief look back at the other films of the series, similar to a recent YouTube user's video called "Through The Pensieve."

As for what's next for the now-grown stars? Radcliffe will be singing at the Tonys in support of his hit role in "How To Succeed in Business," while Watson will take on "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," and, hopefully, get a boyfriend.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," hits theaters July 15th.

I would love to see films of the people who did not get the roles just to compare and try to see what the people making the decisions saw that led to these being chosen. It has got to be a risk to cast children not knowing what they will be like as they grow older. The risk paid off here. Bud Bundy comes to mind as one that maybe did not.

I recognized Mickey Rooney and Shirley Temple right off the bat, but it took me a while to figure out that was Shirley Maclaine on the right. Memories...

I bought the 1st book for my daughter way back when she was the same age as Harry. Wasn't sure she'd like it becaue even at 11 she was very sure of her literary tastes. When she handed me back the book the next day and asked if there was a sequel I knew we had a winner. We've read all the books (her first, then me, then her dad and brother) and have enjoyed them all and miss not having any new ones to wait for.
Think I will be having an HP marathon the week before the movie comes out

The more I keep seeing these clips that say "it ends this summer", the more I have the feeling I'm going to be depressed after watching the film. I read these books before they were popular, I like many people, grew up alongside Harry. I don't think that anything else will impact my life like Rowling's book did.

I never read the books nor heard of the stories when the first HP movie came out. I do remember the hype of that first movie and waited for a couple of weeks to see it.

Looking at that picutre, time sure does sneak up on ya.

Ten years! They went by so quickly. I've enjoyed the books and the movies - a hard thing to do (for me) - because movies rarely equal the success and 'feel' of books. But this cast and crew and movie production team have done an amazing job.

I shall miss not having any more Harry Potter films to eagerly anticipate. Good thing I have the nearly complete series of dvds at home!

I wish Daniel, Emma & Rupert all the best and may their futures shine brightly in the cinematic glow of theaters everywhere.

I think Hermione has grown to become one of the most beautiful women in the world right now. Such a classy and gorgeous person to not fall victim to the "typical" child star effects.

Yes. Emma Watson's parents kept her quite grounded. I admire her attempt to earn a university degree at Brown; too bad she was not able to complete it, but even a partial college education is better than none (Lindsay Lohan, are you listening?). I wish all of them the best. Both Watson and Grint started out nailing their parts; Radcliffe has grown in his acting abilities over the years.

Emma will be returning to Brown in the Fall, so she will eventually get her degree. She just took the spring off for filming and promoting the new HP :)

They're so freaking adorable! I can't believe they're all in their 20s now. Time sure does fly.
