I really resent the fact - that there has been a more immediate response - and a greater outpouring of monies and concern - since the Haiti quake.....................than there was for New Orleans and Hurricane Katrina...........it makes me so mad I could spit....

Haiti is the most non-productive country in the Western Hemisphere - with the highest incidence of AIDS......literacy rate is terrible.....90% of it's GNP comes from foreign aid - mostly from the U.S........half the population practices voodoo....and the other half is controlled by the Catholic Church....they have no reason to even exist....Haiti has no redeeming social or economic value.....their poverty level is abyssmal, the average age is 20 years old, and the laws - however few there are on the books - are not respected......

Tthere is soooo much concern, so many emergency units, soooo......... many humanitarian organizations..........

And so many people in New Orleans - STILLl have not been recompensed or have regained their health and well-being....many still do not have adequate housing.....

It's all well and good to be a humanitarian public..........but start at home, and take care of your own backyard.....all of these millions that are going out of the country to 'save' someone else - should be used here - to take care our own people..............

The people of New Orleans will not thank you for hiding behind their plight as an excuse to air your hate. This rates as possibly the most disgusting response to massive human suffering I have ever read.

"GOD BLESS ALL THE PEOPLE WHO ARE HELPING WITH DONATIONS FOR HAITI. IT MAKES ME A BIT MORE HOPEFUL ABOUT THE STATE OF THE WORLD WHEN I HEAR THAT THERE IS STILL KINDNESS AND COMPASSION AT WORK. WE ARE ALL BROTHERS AND SISTERS ON THIS PLANET. MAYBE IT TAKES A SITUATION LIKE THIS TO MAKES US REMEMBER THAT GOD WANTS US TO BE ANGELS WHEN OTHERS ARE SUFFERING. ANYWAY, GOD BLESS THE KIND HEARTED WHO ARE HELPING IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER."

Star studded being the operative word.... I commend CNN so much for what they did last night and to those who showed up... I do wish however while talking about the desperation in Haiti and how much money is needed to help them that Jennifer Lopez wasn't sitting there with the BIGGEST diamond stud earrings on. It just seemed a wrong setting for that...

Thanks to all the whites, who do not hate blacks, and are doing all they can to help.

Thank you!

What an irony that people are often at their best in the worst of circumstances. What a blessing that so many people are galvanizing to bring support and comfort to a people whose history is peppered with a string of overwhelming challenges. It's also good to see most people over the mental age of 13 are refraining from making this a political hash.

Cnn is reporting 7 million this morning. Whatever the amount, these folks helped encourage people to give in a big way. Thank you! Haitians are going to need so much help in the days, months and years to come. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers and do whatever YOU can to support.
