Hermy B. Almonte earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Transportations from Philippine Merchant Marine College and has traveled throughout the world working in the shipping industry. 
In 1989 Hermy and his wife Maria Herce Almonte settled in the Bay Area where he began his current career working for one of the leading non-profit affordable housing developers, helping families of all cultural backgrounds find safe and affordable shelter. more>

Lance James is a husband, a parent with two children in San Leandro schools, and a Hayward Unified School District elementary school teacher, where he serves on the  School Site Council member, is a Site-Based Decision Making member, and an Executive Board member, site representative,  and negotiator for the Hayward Education Association.   more>

Ron Carey, a lifelong resident of San Leandro, graduated from Pacific High School and California State University, Hayward with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences.  Ron married his wife Linda, a San Leandro High School (SLHS) graduate, in 1987. He has worked for the Bay Area Air Quality Management District for 22 years and is currently a Senior Air Quality Inspector.  more>

Mike Katz-Lacabe came to California to attend U.C. Berkeley, where he majored in Environmental Science. He taught at the Lawrence Hall of Science and for UC Extension, Santa Cruz. Mike has served as a computer tutor at the San Leandro Public Library and as a mentor. Mike currently chairs the Communications Committee and serves on the Finance and Advocacy Committees. more>

Morgan Mack-Rose has been a resident of San Leandro since 2002 and is the parent of two young girls, both of whom attend Washington Elementary school.  Morgan’s commitment to equitable public education lead her to become an active parent in San Leandro schools in 2004, before her first child entered kindergarten.  She served as PTA President for two years, member of the Superintendent’s Parent Leadership Council and Phone Bank Coordinator of the successful Measure B bond in 2006. more>

Diana Prola is a retired educator with 40 years’ experience in schools, having taught every grade from first through junior college. She has an elementary credential and secondary credentials in English, Social Studies, Math and Cross-cultural, Language, and an Academic Development (CLAD) certificate; as well as an Administration and Supervision Credential.  In addition to classroom instruction, Diana has also worked as a high school activities director and as an elementary/middle school principal.  She earned her Bachelors degree from University of California–Berkeley and holds a Master's Degree in English from California State University Hayward. more>

Trustee Carmen Sullivan, born in Oakland, graduate of Bishop O'Dowd High School and Chabot College School of Nursing, has been an Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse for 23 years at Summit Medical Center in Oakland and has enjoyed the varied rewarding experiences that nursing has offered over the years.  She is also an Adjunct Clinical Nursing Instructor at Samuel Merritt College of Nursing. Trustee Sullivan is currently advancing her nursing degree and is a student at Sonoma State University, where she is a McNair Scholar and plans to focus on Women and Cardiovascular Disease.  Trustee Sullivan is a member of the American Nurses Association,  American Association of Critical Care Nurses, American Heart Association, California Nurses Association,  and Preventive Cardiovascular Nurses Association. more>
