     MR. PRESIDENT:

        I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:

    A SENATE RESOLUTION to congratulate Orbin "Jack" Hoffer and Dorothy Hoffer for celebrating their 81st Wedding Anniversary.

    Whereas, over 81 years ago, on St. Valentine's Day, 1921, Orbin "Jack" Hoffer and Dorothy Hoffer were married;

    Whereas, Jack Hoffer, at 103 years of age, and Dorothy Hoffer, at 99 years of age, continue to love and care for each other in their home outside of Nappanee;

    Whereas, Jack, a retired farmer, and Dorothy, a retired homemaker, have lived a long, happy and healthy life in the same home since 1936;

    Whereas, in their 81 years of marriage, Jack and Dorothy have raised two children and have seen two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren added to their family; and

    Whereas, during their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Hoffer have witnessed, among other things, the Great Depression, World War II, the end of racial segregation and Mankind's first walk on the Moon;

    Whereas, the length of their marriage, through the turbulent times of the 20th Century, demonstrates the strength of their commitment and represents all that is to be honored and that is to be desired from the institution of marriage: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
