Palin Rains On Romney Roll-Out With Vacation Oration

Palin On Vacay

First Posted: 06/ 2/11 03:28 PM ET Updated: 06/ 2/11 07:04 PM ET

Sometime Alaska Governor Sarah Palin took time off from her Culinary Adventures tour Thursday to cruise on up to Bunker Hill, Mass. to aid the colonists in fortifying their defenses against Mitt Romney's individual mandate. This happened hours before Romney himself formally announced his intentions to run for president, so, as they say, "shots fired!"

"In my opinion, any mandate coming from government is not a good thing, so obviously ... there will be more the explanation coming from former governor, Romney, on his support for government mandates," Palin said.

Can we hold on for just one minute? Sarah Palin -- she's on vacation, right? With her family? And it's not supposed to be some sort of publicity tour? Okay. Just checking. This is, I guess, simply the strangest vacation ever undertaken. Carry on!

Someone -- a reporter, who was just hanging around, looking for vacationers to talk to I guess? -- pointed out that Romney's "explanation" of "his support for government mandates" is to argue that his state-run CommonwealthCare is distinct from the federal mandates in the Affordable Care Act. Palin admitted that Romney had been making "a good argument," but added:

"However, even on a state level and even a local level, mandates coming from a governing body, it's tough for a lot of us independent Americans to accept, because we have great faith in the private sectors and our own families ... and our own businessmen and women making decisions for ourselves. Not any level of government telling us what to do."

She went on to suggest that the Tea Party would have something to say about it, as well:

"That perhaps will be a big challenge for [Romney] because Tea Party activists are pretty strident, in a good way, in making sure that the candidate that many of the Tea Party patriots will support -- the candidate has a record of living out the principles that tea party patriots do embrace," she said.

Story continues below

The Romney campaign responded thusly: "Mitt Romney's focus is on lifting the nation out of its recession, making America number one again in job creation and taking the fight to President Obama over his failure to end the misery that unemployment has brought." That's just the sort of mild rejoinder you'd expect from someone who can't afford to lose the general election vote of any Palin supporter.

This "patriotic" idiot, doesn't know a thing about our wonderful history. Only someone like this moron could chop it up, distort it and get it completely WRONG. Some patriot, the Founding Fathers are rolling over in their graves, crying for our country. I cry for our country, I can't believe that anyone is delusional enough to think this foool is Presidential in any stretch of the imagination. Paul Revere was warning the British? What? I pity her children and I hold her fans in the utmost contempt.

Where's the Paul Revere story here? It was on Yahoo but no longer. Thought for sure I'd find it here. Maybe I need to look under comedy.

Isn't that the stupidest thing ... oh, wait ... consider the source. When will people stop taking this dingbat seriously?

This Paul Revere thing is hilarious! She'll just go on FoxNews and claim that it's the fault of the "lame-stream media" and their "gotcha" tactics. She'll claim taht she knows the history of America better than anybody else...blah blah blah

certainly funnier than Herman Cain's "re-read the Constitution" blunder...

PALIN: He who warned, uh, the British that they weren’t going to be taking away our arms uh by ringing those bells and making sure as he’s riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be secure and we were going to be free and we were going to be armed.

So she goes on FoxNews Sunday and claims she's right, and blamed the media and their "gotcha" questions... It's not even a challenge anymore....

GIBSON: And you didn't say to yourself, "Am I experienced enough? Am I ready? Do I know enough about international affairs? Do I -- will I feel comfortable enough on the national stage to do this?"

PALIN: I didn't hesitate, no.

GIBSON: Didn't that take some hubris?

PALIN: I -- I answered him yes because I have the confidence in that readiness and knowing that you can't blink, you have to be wired in a way of being so committed to the mission, the mission that we're on, reform of this country and victory in the war, you can't blink.

I didn't blink then even when asked to run as his running mate.

Quote above when asked about making the decision to run for VP - now why is it such as long drawn out process to decide now if she wants to run . To play games and keep the media panting like puppies after her. She knows what she plans to do and is laughing at the media and the American public with everyones attention to her .... she is playing everyone and doing it very well.

So she is on vacation?---I didn't know that because it looks to me like a campaign tour,or a book tour...or that she's hawking something.I suspect that she is probably lying. Why does she do interviews and stump speeches on her family's vacation? This, combined with the fact that she said she doesn't trust "any" mandate from the government makes me think that she might not truly know what a government does.
It makes me think that maybe she only thinks that government enriches those in government and nothing more.It makes me think that she is crooked,is what it does.I wouldn't want her cleaning my house if I wasn't there to watch her because I think that she might try stealing from me.Just to see if she could get away with it.She is not acting like a person that I can trust.

Wow, Palin is really flexing her little political muscles. She is still a fox news contributor, so why is she going against the fox news code, the one that Reagan enshrined, you don't criticize a fellow republican? Since she is on a "family vacation" shouldn't she be supportive of Romney? She seems to be copying a page from the old Trump playbook, tease the reporters into a frenzy, keep your brand in the spotlight and then slink away when no one is looking.

Haven't you heard? Sarah is a rogue. No playbook for her.

She would make the perfect puppet-president. Without any thought processes of her own, she would mouth anything she was told to, all along reliably *thinking* it came from her own head. With her self-delusion being the ideal front, it's impossible to nail her, too slippery. Until the curtain is pulled back and the masters revealed this fraud won't be going away soon. She did mention to Greta that this trip was Todd's idea, but that's a smokescreen too. Nothing she says or does is honest.

Who is paying for all this security, anyway?

I suppose Palin brings along a few bodyguards, but for the most part it's the already hard-pressed town/city taxpayers.

I swear that little kid of hers is either supremely unhappy or just a thug!

Go home, Sarah, you've made enough money. Your family needs you.

That poor, unhappy child of hers can be seen in the background of every picture for the last several days. Did her Mom promise her a fun vacation?

She apparently didn't let her take up space for a change of clothes. Sarah's wearing something different in every pic, but Piper's been wearing the same clothes for days.

Her kids are pure political props to Palin.

Remember during the 2008 campaign when Palin was invited to drop the puck at a hockey game? She was told that the crowd might boo her. Her reponse? To take Piper out on the ice with her because "they won't boo a little girl."

That's right. Palin, without the slightest hesitation, was willing to use her young daughter as a shield.

Of course, the crowd booed. I remember seeing video that showed Piper looking around, totally bewildered, as the crowd booed her mother. What must that have done to that little girl?

I feel so sorry for all her kids. They are just something she can use to further her own ambitions. The woman's vanity and selfishness are incredible.
