EXCLUSIVE 'Burn Notice' Clip, Plus Creator Matt Nix Talks Big Changes This Season

by Maureen Ryan, posted Jun 15th 2011 10:15AM
The exciting fifth-season opener of USA's 'Burn Notice,' which arrives on USA June 23, alters the world of spy Michael Westen in tantalizing ways.

As viewers learned at the end of the previous season, Michael has finally "come in from the cold." After spending years uncovering the nefarious deeds of the bad guys who got him 'burned' (or exiled) from the spy community, he's been embraced by the CIA once more. So everything's groovy now, right?

"One of the things that emerges early in the season is that the typical intelligence agency job is not necessarily a high-stakes, high-octane thrill ride," the show's executive producer and creator, Matt Nix, said in an interview. "It's not necessarily something Michael is even particularly interested in doing anymore."

"It's still 'Burn Notice,'" Nix hastens to add. "I didn't want to be like, 'Okay, now he does paper-shuffling."

Maroon 5 frontman Levine chose the classic 'With a Little Help From My Friends,' which his team performed with the help of a high school gospel choir singing backup.

Team Cee Lo chose to stay in the '60s, and knocked it out of the park with an exuberant -- if possibly over-accessorized -- rendition of Sly and the Family Stone's 1968 hit, 'Everyday People.'

Kim Kardashian Tells Jay Leno How Kris Humphries Proposed to Her (VIDEO)

by Catherine Lawson, posted Jun 15th 2011 7:13AM
Kim Kardashian and Jay LenoKim Kardashian recently got engaged to her beau, basketball player Kris Humphries, and she took time off from wedding planning to visit 'The Tonight Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC).

Host Jay Leno was interested to find out how long it took for Kim to know that Kris was "the one," and seemed taken aback when she said she hadn't known immediately. But, it only took until "month two" of the whirlwind romance for her to be sure.

Then Kim spilled the beans of the exact details of Kris's oh-so-perfect, ultra-romantic proposal. (Guys might like to take notes here, as many prospective Bridezillas are sure to be wanting their boyfriends to "do a Humphries" for their own marriage proposals.)

Anyway, at the end of a "totally random day" Kim arrived home to what seemed to be an empty house. However, when she opened her bedroom door she found Kris waiting for her on bended knee, candles everywhere, and he'd spelled out "Will You Marry Me?" in red rose petals on her big white rug. Awww. How cute is that?!

The Duchess of York didn't start out her life as a part of the rich and famous Royal Family. She was a "regular kid," as Kimmel said, who had to pay for her first trip to America by cleaning "urine-alls" or, as we Westerners call them, urinals, or toilets in Squaw Valley.

Ferguson had to hold down three jobs at one time to fund her travels, and her past gigs included escorting children to the ski lift and heating up strudel in a strudel house.
