The 'Batman Live' Batmobile Revealed [Video]

Just weeks away from its July 19 premiere in Manchester, the Batman Live stage show has finally revealed its version of the Caped Crusader's sweet ride, the Batmobile. It's not that we were worried. This production has impressed us with its stylish sets, cool (if shiny) costumes and an overall tone that seems suitably inspired by Batman's comic book lore. Thanks to a video report from First Newspaper, you can now get a close look at the Batmobile's recent London unveiling. So far it seems right at home with the rest of the stage show. And just in case you were wondering? Yes, its totally got a sweet afterburner.

The 5 Greatest Knockoff Characters In Comics

One of the most accepted truisms in super-hero comics is that there's not a whole lot of new stuff to be found underneath Earth's yellow sun. With seventy years of heroes, villains, selfless acts and dastardly schemes, plenty of creators have come up with bold new ideas, only to find out that they were done years ago. Probably by Jack Kirby.

But that's not necessarily a bad thing. A lot of the fun of super-hero comics comes from taking those old elements and seeing a new spin on them. Whether they're obvious and intentional stand-ins -- like The Authority's Apollo and Midnighter as Superman-and-Batman -- or creations that try to slip by unnoticed, there are plenty of bootleg versions of super-heroes out there, and some of them actually become great in their own right. And those are the characters we're spotlighting today with a look at The Top Five Greatest Knockoff Characters In Comics!

DC Editors on the Relaunch: Cost, Female Costumes, and What's Still in Continuity [Interview]

As everyone is no doubt thoroughly aware at this point, big changes are coming to the DC Universe in September, when their entire slate of comics relaunches with new #1 issues, all available simultaneously in print and digital.

But what does the double rainbow of this massive two-pronged announcement mean? Editor-in-Chief Bob Harras and Executive Editor Eddie Berganza spoke to ComicsAlliance to help fill in the blanks about which classic stories are still going to "count" after the relaunch, why the rumors of giving female characters pants were false, how they plan to hold the line at $2.99 for print and digital with most of their titles, and the fate of Jim Lee's long-anticipated Dark Knight: Boy Wonder.

ComicsAlliance: With the 52 new titles that are coming in September, is DC going to continue holding the line at $2.99?

Bob Harras: Forty of our fifty-two titles will be $2.99 in September, and we've very dedicated to holding that line. It's very important to us, and we're very happy to continue to do so. [Editor's Note: DC confirmed that there will be "consistency of pricing" for digital sales as well, consistent with their previous pricing announcement.]

CA: Obviously a lot is going to be changing in September, but what storylines from the history of the current DC Universe are going to carry forward into the relaunch?

Eddie Berganza: It's all built on characters. It's the stories that mean a lot to a particular hero or villain -- you have Death in the Family counting, Blackest Night, Brightest Day, The Killing Joke, Identity Crisis. These are important storylines that affected our characters' lives, and that will be part and parcel of moving forward.

Hitler-Punches: Paolo Rivera's Movie Poster Tribute to Classic Captain America and More

After 70 years of countless published illustrations, the most famous image of Captain America remains his very first appearance on the cover of Captain America Comics #1 in 1941. Created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, the cover depicts the Sentinel of Liberty delivering a well-deserved clobbering to Adolf Hitler, forever imprinting the superhero in our cultural memory. While it remains to be seen whether the scene will be recreated by Chris Evans in Captain America: The First Avenger, the filmmakers and illustrator Paolo Rivera saw fit to make sure some version of that famous image made its way into the world of the movie.

Check out Rivera's full-size poster after the jump, where you will also find a selection of illustrated Hitler-punches courtesy of the best blog on the internet, Hitler Getting Punched.

'Graveyard of Empires' Brings Zombies into the Afghanistan War [Previews]

On sale now from Image Comics is Graveyard of Empires #1, the 32-page first chapter of a new limited series set against the war in Afghanistan. Created by Mark Sable (Unthinkable) and Paul Azaceta (Amazing Spider-Man, B.P.R.D.: 1946), the story is a prodigiously researched and unflinchingly violent depiction of what life is really like for American troops in this 10th year of war in Afghanistan, but with one critical difference: zombies, an undead threat that forces the Marines and the Taliban to work together to stop a common enemy.

ComicsAlliance spoke with writer Mark Sable about Graveyard of Empires, just the latest of his politically-themed comics, and previewed eleven pages of lettered artwork by Paul Azaceta.

How It Should Have Ended Examine's 'Thor' Movie Conclusion [Video]

While most Marvel Comic fans are still stoked that an honest-to-Norse-gods decent Thor film actually arrived in theaters in their lifetime, the film wasn't without its problems. Functioning both as an introductory film and as a cinematic tributary to The Avengers franchise, a lot went down over the course of the movie and viewers may not have been satisfied with its conclusion. Worry not, fellow mortals! The animators at How It Should Have Ended have brought their own Thor finale to the internet to bring you parodical closure.
